Once I have submitted a CV to OFS how long does it take to find out if I will find a placement?
Once you have submitted a CV to us we will review and contact various Clients and seek feed back from them as to if they are sufficiently satisfied by the quality of the individual. We will then provide feed back soon after - hopefully with a job for you.
How does OFS check competence?
We have a Competence Matrix in which we profile all of the Job Functions that we deal with our Clients. We also check Certification as well as References. We work with our Clients to ensure that we are matching the correct skill to a position.
Do you have fixed and Ad Hoc work patterns?
Consultants are given a profile and this means we look to offer the correct support in terms of work rotation. Some Consultants require 120 days a year whilst others are happy to work 180+ , Ad Hoc is more flexible than fixed rotation.
Am I insured whilst travelling to my work location?
Our company insurance covers our guys from the moment they leave their door until they return back home after the assignment.
If I am offered an assignment in a country that requires me to have travel vaccinations who is required to pay for them?
Normally the client will pay for the vaccinations and these may be claimed back via an expenses claim.
Can you give advice regarding my CV?
We cannot give advice regarding the contents of your CV although we do have a standard CV format that we present to our Clients. Our chosen format showcases our Consultants abilities to our Clients.
Who pays for my Survival?
As a contractor you are expected to pay for mandatory training required to work on offshore installations. You will be advised of the specifics for different regions. If extra special training is required this would normally be paid for by the Client.
If I work outside of the UK what currency will I get paid in?
Provided you are a UK resident you will be paid in Stirling. If you are non resident we will pay you in the currency of the country of residence.
How long will it take for me to get paid once I submit my invoice?
As part of our Ethics policy we recognize that being self employed requires a firm handle on finances. We say generally that once you have submitted an invoice to us you will receive payment 4 weeks later although we aim for 2 - 3 weeks.
How do I submit an expenses claim?
E-mail us your detailed expenses breakdown along with clear photo images of the receipts and we will process this as soon as possible. If we have any queries we will contact you to discuss and may ask you to resubmit again.
How do I submit an invoice?
Simply fill in your invoice detailing the number of days you were required for the assignment and e-mail it to our accounts department (Don't forget to include you bank details on the invoice). Please do this as soon as you return from the assignment.
Do I have to supply my own PPE?
We supply the following PPE: Boots, Coveralls, Hard Hat & Safety Glasses that comply with UK standards. We do not supply gloves as different Clients and Operators require a variety of different types of gloves to suit different applications.
How do you determine my day rate?
An integral part of our Ethics Policy is to work for our Consultants. This means that we look to pass on the best possible day rate that we can.
How does 6% commission work for me?
Most Personnel Agencies charge much higher rates for their consultants than the consultant receives. We believe that our consultants deserve the best day rate they can achieve and for this reason we take just 6% Commission.
What is Commission?
Our commission is a fee paid to a salesperson (OFS) in exchange for services in facilitating or completing a sale transaction (Client). The commission is structured as a percentage of the gross margin generated by the sale.
